Consumer Tips: How To Avoid Foreclosure Site Scams Online
Just like any other sector that involves buyers, sellers and money that switches hands, the real estate market also has its fair share of scammers, fraudsters and cybercriminals that operate online and look for potential victims.Scammers use many illegal or unethical ways to trick consumers. Some foreclosure websites contain outdated, inaccurate or false information about properties, which will not help potential investors, home buyers, bargain hunters or real-estate professionals.Other fraudsters build and operate fake foreclosure search sites that use phishing techniques to gather private information from unsuspecting users and then steal either their identity or money.Taking these steps will help you find credible and reliable services:
Consider Hiring an Independent Expert
First-time foreclosure buyers with no experience may want to hire a professional real estate agent for getting adequate support, guidance, and assistance.
Take Advantage of the Free Trial
Often, major foreclosure sites provide a free trial period so that potential members can test drive the service and evaluate its quality. This is a great way to explore the features free of charge and experience the benefits of the website before investing in a monthly or annual membership.

Is Foreclosurecom Worth The Money
The downside to Foreclosure.com is the cost, which many real estate investors arent too happy with because there are websites available that provide similar services for free. However, the choice is entirely up to you and it all depends on your needs. Youll need to weigh up whether the convenience and time saved by getting all the information and distressed property listings in one place is worth the fee that they charge.
What Else You Need To Know
Our algorithm used factors that analyzed in particular the company’s website, in this case www.foreclosure.academy. When we look into websites, we search for professional details that reveal key information about a business – how they sell, poor customer service, etc. For example, if we analyze a brewery page, we don’t rate the beer taste, but rather their website and how they sell the beer.
This is not a vanity tool, so if you are the owner of www.foreclosure.academy and not happy with the 58.70 ranking, remember that your website is your online business card. It REALLY needs some improvements. It could be anything from your online management system, to HTTPS connection. Or your public reviews, which are critical.

How The Site Works
Foreclosure.com is a site FULL of potential investment opportunities but to use it effectively, it’s important to understand the differences between each type of listing and how to contact the right person so you can make an offer.
Remember, Foreclosure.com is just a platform that shows information. They aren’t involved with the actual buying or selling process.
Since there are SEVERAL different types of listings you’ll find on this site I thought it would be helpful to put together a quick explanation on each one, along with some notes about what’s going on with each type of listing and who you’ll need to contact to pursue the deal.

I Joined This Site For The One Week
I joined this site for the one week trial and cancelled before the week was up. Several months later I went to the site for a few minutes did not login – but perhaps my password was auto-stored so it logged me in. I discovered today that since that brief login I have been paying $39.48/month for a service I’m not using. The representative explained that by logging in I activated a membership. He said that I clicked on a box that said I wanted to activate. No Way. The box is probably tiny and checked by default. Then I asked if the box explained that I was signed up for $39.48/month…and he said, well no, you would have had to go into the details to see that. He said he could cancel and reverse the pending charge, but not the prior month. Then I explained that I was an attorney, and they were both reversed. Companies who operate like this, and there are a lot of them, make it bad for those who don’t.

What Is A Foreclosure Scam
The goal of a foreclosure scam is to talk you into paying money for a mortgage-related service you will never receive. These scammers sometimes rerefer to themselves as “foreclosure rescue companies.” According to the Federal Trade Commission , they find homeowners in distress by combing through local newspapers, online, or through public filings for signs of anyone who may be facing foreclosure. What Is A Forensic Loan Audit
In a forensic loan audit, a loan auditor supposedly reviews the paperwork from when you took out your mortgage to see if the lender complied with the law. If the audit reveals legal violations, you can theoretically then use the results to strong-arm the lender into giving you a modification.
But the way most companies conduct this kind of audit is by having a low-level processor enter your information into a compliance software program, and the program then spits out a very basic report. In most cases, no errors or only minor errors are found. The salesperson might say that the results of such an audit will force the servicer into giving you a modification, which is rarely true. You’d have to raise the legal violations in an answer to a foreclosure lawsuit or file your own suit to have any effect.
Where Can I Find Listings For Foreclosure Auctions
We offer listings for each stage of foreclosure: pre-foreclosure, foreclosure auctions and bank-owned listings. To find listings for foreclosure auctions, enter your search area on Zillow, then click Listing Type and choose Pre-Foreclosure under the Potential Listings heading. Any applicable listings for foreclosure auctions will come up in the search results. Pre-foreclosure information is free after you register with a free account.

Foreclosure Suspension Akin To Shooting Ourselves In The Foot
Finance Minister Constantinos Petrides on Wednesday described the recent decision by the House of Parliament to suspend the foreclosure bill as shooting ourselves in the foot, noting that the only people who stand to benefit are strategic defaulters.
Kedipes chairman Lambros Papadopoulos on Tuesday said that frequent interventions in the foreclosure framework will negatively affect the companys ability to generate cash inflows.
Moreover, Papadopoulos noted that this arrangement affects loans totalling 2.9 billion, representing half of Kedipes portfolio.
The Finance Minister said that it is a bill without reason, where the only people it will serve are strategic defaulters or those who have property and income, but refuse to fulfil their obligations, noting that no primary residences owned by vulnerable people have been foreclosed.
Its really ridiculous and no one in the EU can understand how the vast majority of farms or commercial properties, regardless of income, regardless of value, regardless of ability to repay, are eligible to be covered by this legislation, Petrides added.
These things, he explained, cannot be understood by the EU, since there is no logic to the bill.
Moreover, Petrides said that they believe that the people this rewards are the ones who willfully refuse to pay their obligations if they dont pay them, someone else will.

What Is A Securitization Audit
In a process called “securitization,” multiple loans with similar characteristics are pooled and then sold in the secondary market, often to a trust. A securitization audit will supposedly reveal whether your loan was securitized and, if so, whether the securitization was done correctly.
But securitization audit reports usually just give you publicly available information and make unsupported conclusions of law that aren’t useful when trying to get your loan modified.
